Noom Basics

Does Noom Connect to Apple Watch?

Noom can connect to the Apple Watch, and can be used to track steps so you don’t need to carry your iPhone around all the time. It does this through the Health tool that comes baked iOS and WatchOS.

This means that you will need to allow Noom to communicate with Apple Health if you want to use your Apple Watch for step-tracking. If you dismissed this feature when you first set up Noom, we’ve included some instructions below to set it up.

How to Connect Noom to Apple Watch

Before we show you how to connect Noom to your Apple Watch, you will first need to make sure your Apple Watch is tracking your steps and passing those over to Apple Health. You’ll find instructions on how to do this on Apple’s website.

Assuming that’s all set up correctly, and if you went through the standard setup process on your Apple Watch there’s no reason it shouldn’t be as it’s turned on out of the box, then read on to see how to connect Noom to your Apple Watch.

  1. Open the Noom application on your iPhone.
  2. Click the menu icon in the top-left and select Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom and click Connect to the Health App.
  4. A pop-up will then appear — click Yes, Let’s Go.
  5. You’ll then be redirected to your iPhone’s Settings.
  6. Once there, click Allow in the top-right corner.
  7. From the ‘Allow Noom to Read Data’ list, turn on Steps.
  8. Return to the Noom application.
  9. A pop-up will appear asking you if you want to use steps from Health.
  10. Click the Yes button, then click the Back button.
  11. Tap Choose Steps Data Source from the list.
  12. Make sure that Health App Steps is selected; if Noom Pedometer is, turn it off.

Is There a Noom Apple Watch App?

Because Noom uses the Apple Watch to track steps through Health, there isn’t a dedicated Noom app for the Apple Watch. We think Noom should create one though as there are several things you may want to do on your Apple Watch.

For instance, it would be much easier if you could log water intake in Noom through your Apple Watch instead of having to pull out your iPhone each time. We’d also like the option to add snacks from a list of our most common choice on our wrist.

What Other Devices Work with Noom?

You don’t have to rely on the Apple Watch to track your steps, though. If you wear a dedicated fitness tracker like a Fitbit as well, you can probably hook this up to Noom instead and use that data for your calorie and exercise tracking and calculations.
